Prepare doughIn a cup, add in 6 tbsp lukewarm water. Sprinkle yeast on top and add a pinch of sugar. Stir and set aside for 5 mins. In a bowl add all the dry ingredients. Make a well in the center. Pour in buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and yeast mixture. Knead for about 10 mins by hand. Cover and set aside to rise until double in size. |

Shape doughnutOnce doubled, turn the dough out onto floured table. Knead lightly. Roll the dough the ½ inch thickness. Use a round cutter or any shape cutter to cut out the doughnut shapes. Floured the cutter so that the dough doesn’t stick. Place the doughnuts on a piece of parchment paper. Then put them on a baking tray never with a moist cloth. Keep the tray in the oven. Let them rise till double in size. |

Deep Fry DoughnutIn a pot or wok, heat oil to 180c. Carefully drop the doughnuts into the hot oil. Turn over as soon as they become golden brown on the underside. When both sides are looking golden brown, remove using a slotted spoon on to a wire rack to drain excess oil. Place paper towel underneath for easy cleaning. |

Coat and ServeWhen the doughnuts have cooled slightly, sprinkle icing sugar or coat top part with melted chocolate. Serve and enjoy! |
